In celebration of California’s rich maritime history, the Ocean Institute annually hosts a fleet of historic tall ships that sail into Dana Point Harbor. This year the Tall Ships Festival will be held September 9 through 11, 2016.
We are offering special 3-hour trips to see dolphins, whales, and the Tall Ships!
Each evening during the festival Captain Dave’s will have a special trip to view dolphins, whales, AND the historic tall ships under sail. On Friday watch the entire armada kick off the Festival with a sunset Parade of Sail. On Saturday and Sunday, view the mock cannon battle.
Each “Tall Ship Trip” will be extended to 3 hours*, from our regular 2.5 hours, at no additional charge!
*Approximately 2 hours will be viewing whales and dolphins and about 1 hour will be viewing the tall ships, less travel time to and from the dock.
BONUS: We are conveniently located within walking distance of the Ocean Institute’s Tall Ships Festival. Join us for whale watching throughout the weekend, then walk over to the Ocean Institute to enjoy the Festival activities. No need to worry about finding parking again!
