Doing our best to do our part
Since 2008 Captain Dave’s has sponsored the purchase and packing of well over one million meals with Kids Around the World, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and families who have been affected by war, poverty, illness, and natural disasters. Kids Around the World have provided much needed nourishing food to children in 18 different countries, including the U.S. and developing countries across the globe.

Feeding Sudanese Refugees
In 2024, volunteers joined team members from Captain Dave’s to pack about 55,000 meals for starving Sudanese refugees in North Uganda.
Sudan topped the International Rescue Committee’s Emergency Watchlist in 2024 because of escalating conflict, mass displacement, an economic crisis, and a near collapse of health care services.
Over 2 million asylum seekers have sought refuge in neighboring countries such as Uganda, and the vast majority are women and children. Many of the young children are experiencing acute malnutrition.
A special thank you to Navarro’s Tacos for feeding our hungry volunteers!

Feed Rwanda Hope
In 2015 we celebrated our 20th anniversary with a special Christmas-themed meal packing event to help families in Rwanda. Learn more about our Feed Rwanda Hope event.
One Million and One Meals
In 2017 we partnered with Kids Around the World to help pack for hungry refugees from Sudan.
Ongoing Contributions: DVD and Book Sales
Half the sales from Captain Dave’s award winning documentary film “Wild Dolphins & Whales of Southern California” and his award winning book “Lily, A Gray Whale’s Odyssey” continue to support children in need and help protect dolphins and whales.
Partnering with World Vision
Prior to our partnership with Kids Around the World, we partnered with World Vision where half the proceeds from Capt. Dave’s documentary film were used to help a small village called Gangawako located in Malawi (Central Africa). The village has about 1,100 people, many of them orphaned by AIDS. Some of the money was used to help build a better irrigation system to increase their harvests and some of it was used for health care, school supplies and education.
