Giving Back

When you purchase a whale watching ticket we feed a hungry child through Kids Around the World and our meal packing events.

Book Your Trip

Giving back to the oceans, beaches, and community are a few of the ways we try to do our part and keep the environment beautiful and healthy for future generations.

Meal Packing

We proudly support Kids Around the World, a faith-based non profit organization dedicated to helping children and families who have been affected by war, poverty, illness, and natural disasters.

Through your support at meal packing events and donations we have been able to provide food for hundreds of thousands of hungry families from Africa, Haiti, Rwanda, Liberia and Sudan.

Lily Book Cover

Half the proceeds from the sales of Captain Dave’s award winning documentary DVD, “Wild Dolphins & Whales of Southern California“, and his award winning book, “Lily, A Gray Whale’s Odyssey“, support children and families in need and also help protect dolphins and whales.

For nearly 20 years we have proudly supported local non-profits, schools, and similar organizations. We’ve donated over $152,000 and counting in free trips to help non-profits raise funds for their organizations.

Capt Dave holding Gillnet

Almost 1,000 whales and dolphins around the world die every day in fishing gear entanglements.

Captain Dave organized Orange County’s first whale disentanglement group in 2008. Dive deeper into whale rescue. He continues his work to educate and create awareness of the problem.

Proceeds from the sales of Capt. Dave’s DVD and book help the purchase of important whale rescue equipment.

Salt Creek Beach

With an estimated 5 trillion pieces of plastic polluting our oceans, and much of that coming from land, it is more important than ever to keep our beaches pristine. Throughout the year we are proud to host beach clean-ups in Southern California.

Giving back via eco-friendly recyclable water cartons

There are many small ways each of us can give back to help the environment. And Capt. Dave’s is no exception!

We continue to make eco-friendly improvements such as wrapping Mrs. Capt. Dave’s famous brownies in paper rather than foil, using biodegradable cups & cutlery, eliminating paper waste, offering reef safe sunscreens and more.

More recently we replaced single-use water bottles in favor of 100% recyclable water cartons at our Dolphin Deck.
