About the Underwater Viewing Pods!
During your private sailboat charter on Manute’a, you can explore the two Eye-to-Eye Underwater Viewing Pods.
The Underwater Pods are areas in the catamaran’s hull with cushioned padding on the floor so you can sit or lay down. Surrounding you on both sides is 36 square feet of secure, bulletproof glass to see animals underwater.
This is not your ordinary glass-bottom boat! You won’t be looking down at the animals; they will be swimming right next to you and looking you in the eye! And if the dolphins are “chatty,” you’ll be able to hear their clicks and whistles, too.
Each ‘Pod’ (there are two) can usually fit 1 or 2 adults or 2 to 3 kids at a time. The Underwater Pods are included in your private sailboat charter at no extra cost. If you have a large group, everyone takes turns enjoying them.
For your safety, the Underwater Pods are not open during the entire cruise. Your Captain will announce when crew members are opening the ‘Pods’ and allowing passengers in. This typically occurs when we find a large enough pod of dolphins that are curious about the boat.
Please note entry into the Underwater Viewing Pods requires the use of about six ladder-like steps. Therefore, guests with a disability or limited mobility may have difficulty enjoying the ‘Pods.’ Contact us if you need more information.
