Half the proceeds from the sales of Captain Dave’s award winning documentary film “Wild Dolphins & Whales of Southern California” and his award winning book “Lily, A Gray Whale’s Odyssey” support children in need and to help protect dolphins and whales.
Captain Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Watching Safari supports Kids Around the World, a faith-based non profit organization dedicated to helping children and families who have been affected by war, poverty, illness, and natural disasters.
Through your support at Meal Packing Events and donations we have been able to provide food for thousands of families in Haiti devastated by the earthquake through KAtW’s Hope for Haiti program.
Proceeds also help purchase important whale rescue equipment.
As the influence of fishing, whaling, netting and pleasure boating continues to expand, the danger to the mammals of the sea continues to grow. Nearly 1,000 dolphins and whales die every day due to fishing gear entanglement.
Captain Dave organized Orange County’s first whale disentanglement group in 2008. Capt. Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Safari is only the second commercial operation in the United States certified by the government to help whales and dolphins in trouble.
