Your Valentines Day brunch kicks off aboard our upscale catamaran Hoku Nai’a with a catered brunch buffet and a complimentary glass of Champagne while a live Dixieland band plays.
You’ll also enjoy dolphin and whale watching along Dana Point’s beautiful coastline during your Valentine’s Day cruise. A variety of whale watching sightings can be had in February including gray whales, fin whales, humpback whales, minke whales, common dolphins, Pacific white-sided dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and Risso’s dolphins.

And of course, Mrs. Capt. Dave’s famous triple fudge brownies will be served as a special treat during your Valentine’s Day cruise!
For approximately 1 hour we’ll give you a tour of picturesque Dana Point Harbor while you enjoy a delicious brunch with your special someone. A variety of birds and sea lions could be seen. Once in a while, bottlenose dolphins can be found traversing the harbor too!
With bellies full and spirits high, we’ll head out into the open ocean looking for dolphins, whales, and any other marine life off the coast for the remaining portion of the cruise.
Gray whales, fin whales, humpback whales, and minke whales are commonly seen in February. You might encounter several species of frequently seen dolphins including common dolphins, Pacific white-sided dolphins, and bottlenose dolphins. A rare visit from orcas or false killer whales is always possible! And of course a variety of fish such as sharks and sunfish could be seen, too.
The Valentine’s Day cruise will last 3 hours.
Hoku Nai’a is our newest dolphin and whale watching superstar! This 65-foot vessel is a fast and stable power catamaran with a maximum capacity of 149 passengers, although this cruise is limited to just 70 guests.
Hoku Nai’a is specifically designed for passenger comfort and panoramic views from both the main deck and elevated observation deck. There are two restrooms available on the main deck.
You will enjoy a beautifully appointed interior with upscale décor throughout the vessel that celebrates Dana Point’s famous surfing culture and recognition as the Dolphin and Whale Watching Capital of the World®.
On the first floor, the main deck is fully enclosed for climate control. As you enter, a lounge area with three sofas provides a comfortable place to relax and chat. Moving forward of the lounge are plenty of bench seats with tables. Perfect for enjoying your brunch! And towards the front of the boat is a large buffet. Large windows on both sides provide panoramic viewing angles.
Heading upstairs to the second floor, the observation deck has ample cushioned bench seating and is covered for added sun protection. A full bar is available for purchasing refreshments including water, soft drinks, beer, and wine.
Please note Hoku Nai’a is not equipped with underwater viewing pods.
