      Whale Watching Reviews

I had friends from out of town that are real ocean, whale and dolphin watchers. We went to Dana Wharf tours the day before and the tours were night and day. The crew on Captain Daves were fantastic. The main guide Tom was fantastic, funny and knowledgeable. This is an outfit that is here to make a difference for the ocean with big hearts. This is the tour I will now use over and over again. The boat was fantastic, smooth, clean and far nicer than other tours I have been on. Being on the catamaran net you could almost touch the dolphins and the under water pods were a fantastic experience. Tom got the kids involved and excited. Truly a great experience. – Via Yelp Amy H.

As part of a Spring Break trip to Southern California, I decided to take my teen/tween kids to do something outdoors and not associated with a theme park. Whale watching was the answer. After a fair amount of online research, I decided that Capt. Dave’s seemed like the best choice, despite being a bit more expensive than other tours. We were not disappointed! The “I’m too cool for this” kids absolutely loved the experience (as did I) and could not stop talking about it afterwards. The really nice thing that makes this tour different is being on a catamaran with the “deck” being an open net that lets you get splashed, see the dolphins swim beneath your feet, and not feel like you are crowded. The crew was outstanding, friendly, and very safety conscious. I highly recommend it and will go back again. – Via TripAdvisor botman2017

Just an amazing experience.  I agree that this is one of the must-do adventures for anyone visiting SoCal.  We saw six or seven whales when we went out.  I’d been on whale watching trips in newport beach and this one put those to shame. – Via Yelp Ed M.
